Cancer Prevention Chat At NMH
NEW MILFORD Ââ On Thursday, November 6, New Milford Hospital oncologist Anne Chiang, MD, PhD, and surgeon Courtney Chambers, MD, will provide a community health forum titled âWhatâs New in Cancer Prevention.â The talk is happening from 6:45 to 8:30 pm in the New Milford Hospital Robison Conference Rooms.
Medical experts will always place a strong emphasis on treatment advances for cancer. As they continue to understand more about the progression of the disease, they also are focusing on the common issues among cancers that will help prevent cancer and its recurrence in cancer survivors.
Dr Chiang and Dr Chambers plan to discuss general guidelines for understanding and minimizing common cancer risks, while outlining specific screenings and care that will foster early detection of the disease.
Dr Chiang is a medical oncologist with more than a decade of experience in cancer research and patient care, and is on staff at the Regional Cancer Center at New Milford Hospital. She is a member of Connecticut Oncology and Hematology based in northwestern Connecticut.
