Cold Stone Creamery

Ready To Churn In Waterfall Plaza

Cold Stone Creamery, located in the new Waterfall Plaza, at 255 South Main Street, will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, May 27, from 10 am to 11 pm.

All are welcome to join in the celebration. There will be raffles going on throughout the day, including some awarding free ice cream for a year. The first two customers of the day will received a free Cold Stone Creamery cake.

Cold Stone Creamery offers super-premium ice cream; light ice cream will be produced beginning in July, and the store’s sorbet is made fresh on site everyday and offered with a choice of countless mix-in combinations. To experience Cold Stone, customers simply choose their ice cream (or sorbet) and mix-ins.

A Cold Stone Creamery crew member then mixes the selections on a granite stone chilled to 16 degrees Fahrenheit. The resulting creation is scooped into a freshly made waffle cone or bowl — or formed into a personalized cake — and presented to the customer as the “Ultimate Ice Cream Experience.”

Together since the high school days, franchise owners Robert Pacelli, Patrick Pacelli, and Eric Zadravec have opened three stores in Orange, Milford, and North Haven. After the Newtown location is opened, the partners plan to open two more stores in Bridgeport and Shelton.

Having lived in the area for years, they thought the tremendous growth in Newtown would be a perfect justification for their new store.

“Route 25 is just exploding, we are thrilled to get such a great location,” said co-owner Eric Zadravec.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Cold Stone Creamery is an independently owned franchise system with more than 1,250 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and Japan. For more information about Cold Stone Creamery, visit the company’s website at www.coldstonecreamery.com.
