Bee Lecture & Demo At Flanders

WOODBURY — On Saturday, July 23, Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust will host a program from noon to 2 pm called “Bee My Honey,” where participants of all ages are invited to learn about the fascinating world of bees and honey.

Both active and empty beehives will be shown and discussed by Master Beekeeper Mark Moorman of Sprain Brook Apiary. He will also share bee bonnets with those who wish to experience the entire process where attendees will have the opportunity to participate in gathering the honey combs, finding the protected queen within the bee boxes called “super,” and turning the centrifuge that separates honey from the cones.

Samples of the sweet honey produced by local bees will be available.

The program will take place at Flanders’ Sugar House, on Church Hill Road (off Flanders Road). Cost is $8 per person.

For additional information or directions call 203-263-3711.
