Alzheimer’s Caregivers Courses

In November

The Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is offering a series of four seminars for Alzheimer’s caregivers on Tuesday evenings in November. Each program will run from 6 to 8 pm.

They are available at no charge to all family members, friends and caregivers. The programs will be presented by nurses , social workers, elder law attorneys, doctors and therapeutic recreation directors.

The topics to be covered are “An Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias” on November 7, “Approaches to Dementia Care” on November 14, “Family Dynamics, Stress Reduction for Caregivers and Community Resources” on November 21, and “Elder Law Issues” on November 28.

The seminars will be held at The Homesteads at Newtown, 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6). Registration is required. To register for any or all of the classes, call the Alzheimer’s Association at 866-363-6679 extension 15.
