PTA/PTSA Notebook

Middle Gate School — Middle Gate School will be holding its next PTA meeting on Thursday, February 1, at 7 pm at the school. The topics of discussion will include the Family and Community Partnership program. A Family Fitness/Fun Night will be held on Friday, January 26. The spring candy sale of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates will begin on Thursday, February 8. For more information, contact the Middle Gate School at 426-7662.

Newtown High School — The PTSA meets on the first Wednesday of the month unless otherwise noted. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 7. The Business Meeting starts at 7 pm and the program runs from 7:30 to 9 pm. In February, the PTSA will hold an informal community panel entitled “Substance in Today’s Teens” that will provide information about drugs and teens. Newtown Middle School — The Newtown Middle School PTA will not have a January meeting. The group meets on the first Monday of each moth at 7 pm in the NMS Library. Monday, February 5, will be the next meeting date. For more information, contact Newtown Middle School at 426-7644.

Sandy Hook Elementary School — The Sandy Hook PTA will not be meeting in January, but will hold a meeting on Thursday, February 1, at 7:30 pm in the school cafeteria. A nutritionist will speak at the February meeting. On Friday, February 2, the PTA will sponsor a Sock Hop from 6 to 9 am at the Fireside Inn. Tickets for the event are sold through the PTA.
