Taylor Hennessey was named to the fall semester’s Dean’s List at Lasell College, Newton, Mass. To be listed on the Dean’s List, students must take 12 or more graded credits for the semester and achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Conor J. Deveney was named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., for the winter term of the 2010-11 academic year. To be named to the honor roll, students must maintain at least a 5-point grade average on a 6-point scale.

Sixteen Eastern Connecticut State University students, including Gary Andrews of Newtown, from the American Marketing Association (AMA) helped their school earn six awards at the 33rd Annual International Collegiate Conference held in New Orleans, La., March 24 to 26.

Newtown resident Kara Whipkey and Sandy Hook resident Jessica Rardin were honored at Virginia Tech’s fall commencement ceremony held on December 17. Approximately 2,500 bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and PhD candidates along with their families and friends attended the on-campus ceremony presided by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger.

Christina Hartlett earned Dean’s List distinction at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., for the fall semester at the college. To earn recognition on the college’s Dean’s List each semester  students must carry at least 12 graded credits with a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5 in the graded courses.
