NOMAD Festival

Approximately 1,300 fun-loving individuals travelled through heavy rains to

kick up their heels and sing during The Eighth Annual NOMAD festival held at

Newtown High School on October 27-29. The festival offer more than 100 events

by volunteer performers or dance leaders who specialize in areas such as

Family Song Swap, Concertina and Squeezebox, Blue Ribbon Cloggers Workshop,

Intro To Native American Dance Workshop, Morris Dance For Children, and Songs

As History. One-hour samplings provided an introduction to folk dances and

folk music of cultures throughout the US, parts of Europe, parts of Japan, and

other areas.
