After connecting with the NICE Japan Project Team, NHS junior Eric Song established the Japanese Film Festival.

Since December, a series of Japanese films have been shown at NHS free for community members. Eric compiled the list of movies to show after consulting with his father, Allan Song.

The movies, Eric explained in December, were set to be shown in a time order that would document Japan’s history.

The last showing in the film festival was previously scheduled to be Shall We Dance?, which was shared on April 12 in the school’s cafetorium.

With the success of the of the film showings, according to a release from NICE, Ponyo was slated as an additional final film.

Ponyo will be shown for free in the school’s Lecture Hall on Wednesday, May 23, from 6 to 8 pm, and refreshments will be available.
