AARP Driving Course Offered

SOUTHBURY — Brownstein Jewish Family Service of The Federation-Jewish communities of Western Connecticut has joined with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to offer a 55 Alive/Mature Driving Course.

Classes will be held at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North in Southbury. The two sessions will be held on Thursdays, December 2 and 9, from 9 am to 1 pm. Instruction will take place in classroom 8A at the Walzer Campus.

The fee for the course is $10 and checks should be made out to AARP. Participants are encouraged to register early, as class size is limited. For more information and to register, call Debby Horowitz, Brownstein Jewish Family Service Program Director, at 267-3177, ext 105.

Participants may be eligible to receive a significant reduction in their insurance rates upon completion of this eight-hour class. In Connecticut, individuals over 62 qualify for an insurance discount of at least five percent.
