Dinner Party Fundraiser Scheduled For Glebe House
Dinner Party Fundraiser
Scheduled For Glebe House
WOODBURY â Wine, champagne, fine food and good conversation will flow freely at nearly a dozen intimate dinner parties scheduled for June 2 to benefit Woodburyâs Glebe House Museum & The Gertrude Jekyll Garden (GHMGJG).
The dinners will be preceded by an elegant cocktail party in the private gardens of Mill House Antiques, hosted by honorary co-chairs David Veselsky and Ken Elias. Antiques Roadshow appraiser Leigh Keno will be the eventâs special guest. Nationally known antiques dealers, Metropolitan Museum of Art luminaries and other friends of the GHMGJG will welcome guests to their homes.
Wayne Pratt Antiques and Mill House Antiques are sponsors of the event. Fees from the event, $150 per person, will help support educational programs, maintain and restore the house and its collections and support the renovation and maintenance of the Gertrude Jekyll Garden, the only extant work by Englandâs most important garden designer in the United States, commissioned in 1926.
Invitations are being mailed to museum members and others on request. Prospective guests will be asked to specify the three dinner parties of greatest interest. As soon as the guest lists for the individual dinner parties are finalized, the hosts will be in touch with the guests directly to give them the details.
For an invitation or further information, contact museum director Sarah Griswold at Glebe House, Box 245, Woodbury, CT 06798; call 203-263-2855, or visit TheGlebeHhouse.org.
