Festival Of Lessons, Carols For Advent

On Sunday, December 2, at 2 pm, Trinity Church at 36 Main Street will offer a Festival of Lessons and Carols for Advent.

This traditional choral service, part of the Newtown Holiday Festival, will feature two of the choirs of Trinity Church: the Adult Choir and the Trinity Choristers. Under the direction of Trinity’s Music Minister & Organist Fiona Smith Sutherland, the groups will sing beautiful anthems interspersed with readings of Advent and songs of the season for all to join in singing.

A reception will follow the ceremony, and all attendees are invited.

This past year the Trinity Choristers, made up of 21 boys and girls grades 3–12, performed with Vermont’s premiere choral ensemble, Counterpoint, and in October, sang as part of a brilliant Five Choirs Festival at St John’s Church in Waterbury.
