Kevin William Konkos of Newtown has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester at Lehigh University.

Timothy B. Gardner

Timothy B. Gardner was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine at exercises held on May 25. Dr Gardner was the recipient of the Lyman Stowe and Carl F. Hinz awards. He graduated from Newtown High School in 1991 and from Dartmouth College in 1995. Dr Gardner is a resident in internal medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He is the son of Robert and Karen Gardner of Cannon Drive.

Megan Koziar, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lewis Koziar of Newtown, has graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor of science degree in cellular and molecular biology and genetics. Miss Koziar will pursue a master’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Maryland Baltimore. Miss Koziar graduated from Newtown High School in 1995.

Grant Werbeck, a resident of Newtown and son of Gary and Barbara Werbeck, was named to Fairfield University’s dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester. Mr Werbeck is majoring in business at the university and is also active as a wide receiver on the university’s football team and is secretary of the accounting club. Mr Werbeck is a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, and he plans a career in marketing. He was the recipient of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award in April of 1998. He also played in the spring hall of fame game and the CT vs. RI all-state players game.

Courtney B. Jackson, daughter of Judith Jackson of Flat Swamp Road and Glenn S. Jackson of Georgetown, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester at Furman University.

Grant Werbeck

Jessica Lee, of Sandy Hook, and Stacy A.  Dunn and Christopher B. Stites of Newtown, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester at Teikyo Post University.

Laura Plitnik, of Birch Hill Road in Newtown, graduated May 21 from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in geology.

Newtown resident Danielle Griffin, of Bear Hills Road, was named to that dean’s list for the spring semester at Johnson and Wales University.
