Sleeping Bag
A sleeping bag was found in Upper Paugussett State Forest off Alberts Hill Road late last month and was turned over to police for safekeeping.
Police ask that the owner of the sleeping bag contact them at 426-5841 to claim it.
Moving Violations
A Danbury man was charged with three moving violations early on the afternoon of October 13 on westbound Mt Pleasant Road, near Violette Road, in Hawleyville.
Christopher Brandenburg, 24, was issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of misuse of a marker plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
 The marker plate, which Brandenburg had on the 1989 Toyota he was driving, belonged on another auto, police said. The vehicle was towed away. Brandenburg was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court October 25 to answer the charges.

Jeremiah DUI
Motorist Nicholas Batterton, 34, of 149 Lakeview Terrace was stopped by police on Jeremiah Road late on the night of October 20 in connection with their investigation into a mailbox vandalism incident, police said.
During their stop of Batterton, police suspected he may have been intoxicated performed field sobriety tests. Batterton was then charged with driving under the influence. After processing the case at the police station, Batterton was released on a $100 bond for a November 6 court appearance to answer the charge.
Shoplifting
Jan Bochinski, 48, of Fairfield was charged with sixth-degree larceny October 18, following an incident at Super Stop & Shop in Sand Hill Plaza on South Main Street in Botsford.
Police said a store detective saw Bochinski take and conceal seven packs of cigarettes on his body, after which Bochinski took another pack of cigarettes. Bochinski paid for the one pack, but not for the seven concealed packs, police said. Bochinski then left the store.
The store detective alerted police to the situation, after which they charged Bochinski. Police released him on a $100 bond for a November 1 appearance in court.
BMW Backing
Motorist Caitlin Cordeau, 16, of Marblehead, Mass., who was driving a 1990 BMW 325-IS, was backing out of a driveway at 19 Ashford Lane about 8:15 pm October 16 when she backed into a parked unoccupied 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass sedan, which was on the street.
There were no injuries. Police issued Cordeau a written warning for unsafe backing.
Queen Street Crash
Motorist Sharon Woods, 39, of 25 Huntingtown Road was driving a 1999 Jeep station wagon southbound on Queen Street and then stopped at a stop sign about 2:40 pm October 18, when the Jeep was struck from behind by a 2001 Honda sedan driven by June Liang Kung , 38, of 2 Lafayette Lane. There were no injuries. Police issued Kung a written warning for following too closely.
Nissan Vs Nissan
 Motorist Steven Gabriele, 54, of Woodbury, who was driving a 1995 Nissan station wagon northbound on South Main Street about 3:20 pm October 15, slowed and then stopped for traffic near Mile Hill Road.
Motorist Madalyn Henry, 54, of 51 Elizabeth Circle, who was driving a 2001 Nissan sedan northbound, could not stop soon enough and struck the rear end of the station wagon, police said. There were no injuries.
Police verbally warned Henry for following too closely.
Sideswiped
Motorist George C. Birch, 56, of 9 Baldwin Road was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on South Main Street, and then stopped and signaled to make a left turn onto Pecks Lane on October 19, police said.
As Birch was waiting for northbound traffic to pass so that he could make the left turn, southbound motorist Raul Rivera, 23, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1985 Toyota Tercel hatchback, attempted to pass Birch on the right, but in doing so, the driver-side exterior mirror of the Toyota struck the rear passenger-side fender of the Chevrolet, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Rivera an infraction ticket for illegal passing on the right.
Exit 11 Ramp
Motorist Tara Hansen, 28, of 50 Jeremiah Road, who was driving a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier, stopped at a red traffic signal at the end of the Exit 11 off-ramp of Interstate 84 about 6:40 pm October 20, according to state police.
Motorist Joseph Garofalo, 21, of Monroe, who was driving a 1990 Mazda 626 sedan, then struck the Chevrolet from behind. There were no injuries. State police said Garofalo was following too closely.
Heavy Traffic
In heavy traffic on eastbound Interstate 84 about 7:15 pm October 19, motorist Karen Chevalier, 36, of Barkhamsted, who was driving a 1998 Ford sedan, slowed down for traffic.
  Motorist Robert Skinner, 33, of Winsted, who was driving a 2000 GMC station wagon, then struck the Ford from behind, state police said. There were no injuries. Skinner was following too closely, state police said.
Off-Ramp Accident
State police report a sideswipe accident on the Exit 11 off-ramp of Interstate 84 about 8:30 am October 17.
The collision involved a 1997 Honda Civic driven by Simona Anello, 26, of Middlebury and a tractor-trailer truck driven by Christopher Portolese, 36, of Shelton, according to state police. Other details were not available.
Alcohol
Jaclyn Lockwood, 17, of 11 Bayberry Drive received a written warning from police for possession of alcohol by a minor on the night of October 19.
Police said they found Lockwood in the Newtown Shopping Village parking lot on Queen Street with a case of beer in the trunk of the vehicle she was driving.
Police seized the beer as evidence.
Truck Off Road
Motorist Philip G. Ullrich, 16, of 6 Brassie Road was driving a 1997 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck northbound on Mile Hill Road South about 10 pm October 19, when he momentarily took his eyes off the road, struck a curb along the northbound road shoulder and then struck several small trees.
Neither Ullrich nor a passenger were injured, according to police. Police took no enforcement action.
