Newtown Public Schools Schedule Winter Holiday Concerts

The music department for Newtown Public Schools has released the schedule of winter concerts students will be performing this holiday season. Admission to all concerts is free and open to the public.

This year’s concerts will begin on Thursday, December 8, when Sandy Hook School Chorus performs its winter concert at Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road, beginning at 7 pm. Snow date would be December 13.

The schedule continues as follows: Monday, December 12, Middle Gate Winter Concert at Middle Gate School, 12 Cold Spring Road, beginning at 7:30 pm (snow date is also December 13);

Wednesday, December 14, NHS Winter Concert I, at Newtown High School, at 7 pm (snow date December 21);

Thursday, December 15, NHS Winter Concert II, at Newtown High School, with different groups performing on December 14 and 15 (snow date December 22);

Friday, December 16, Newtown Middle School 8th Grade Winter Concert, at Newtown High School, 7 pm (snow date January 13);

Monday, December 19,  Newtown Middle School 7th Grade Winter Concert, at Newtown High School, 7 pm (snow date January 13).

Following winter break from December 26 to December 30, the concerts will resume on Wednesday, January 4, with the Head O’Meadow Chorus Winter Concert, at Head O’Meadow School, 96 Boggs Hill Road, at 7:30 pm (snow date January 11).

The concerts then continue as follows: Monday, January 9, RIS 5th Grade Chorus & Orchestra Winter Concert, at Reed Intermediate School, 4 Trades Lane, start time TBA, snow date January 23;

Tuesday, January 10, RIS 6th Grade Chorus & Orchestra Winter Concert, at Reed Intermediate School, 4 Trades Lane, start time TBA, snow date January 23;

Wednesday, January 11, Hawley School Chorus Winter Concert, at Newtown High School, beginning at 7 pm, snow date January 30;

Tuesday, January 17, RIS 5th Grade Band Winter Concert, at Reed Intermediate School, start time TBA, snow date January 31; and

Thursday, January 19, RIS 6th Grade Band Winter Concert, at Reed Intermediate School, start time TBA, snow date January 26.
