Matthew Siebert of Newtown was named on the Dean’s List at High Point University, High Point, N.C., for the fall 2011 semester. To earn recognition on the university’s Dean’s List a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester based on a 4.0 scale.

Allison Modzelewski of Newtown and Robert Mascher of Sandy Hook were named on the Dean’s List at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, for the fall 2011 semester.

Several area residents were named on the Dean’s List at Quinnipiac University, Hamden, for the fall 2011 semester: Aimee Frier and Megan Meier of Newtown, and Linda Magliocco, Christopher Miller, and Erin Nemeth of Sandy Hook.

At Connecticut College, New London, Stephen Dworkin earned recognition on the school’s Dean’s High Honors list for the 2011 fall semester, and Amanda Kloth earned Dean’s Honors for the fall semester. Students who achieve Dean’s Honors earn a grade point average of at least 3.66, and students who achieve Dean’s High Honors earn a grade point average of at least 3.78 during a semester at the college.

Annemarie Davis of Newtown was named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.

The University of Scranton, Scranton, Penn, recently announced its Dean’s List for the 2011 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to qualfiy. Michael Iorfino of Newtown, and Caitlin D’Eramo and Jillian D’Eramo of Sandy Hook were named on the list.

Sandy Hook residents Olivia G. DeWald and Kaitlin E. Knox were named on the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Vermont, Burlington. To be named to the Dean’s List at the university, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Several local students have been named to the Dean’s List for Fall 2011 at the University of Delaware, Newark. Newtown residents named on the list were Matthew Boland, Emily Floros, Stephanie Mitchel, and Anthony Vacaro. Kristen Carino of Sandy Hook was also named on the list.

Jennifer Patricia O’Connell of Newtown was named to the Dean’s List at the University of North Carolina, Asheville, for the fall 2011 semester. The Dean’s List at the university is made up of full-time students who have achieved between 3.5 and 3.99 grade point average.

Alyssa Renee Carey of Sandy Hook, was named on the Dean’s List for the fall 2011 semester at Boston University. A semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher in four academic courses with no incomplete grades is required to be included on the School of Management’s Dean’s List at the university.
