Lawrence P. McDonnell

Lawrence Peter McDonnell, 67, husband of MaryAnn (Gorbutt) McDonnell, of Easton, died suddenly on June 23 in his home.

He is survived by his son, Christopher McDonnell, and his wife, Lynn, of Sandy Hook.

Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., Mr McDonnell resided in Fairfield and Trumbull before moving to Easton in 1970. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iona College. A manager of corporate communications, he worked for Flygt Corporation/ITT Industries for 29 years.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is also survived by children, Theresa Pompilii, and her husband, Daniel, of Aston, Penn., William McDonnell of Huntington, and Stephen McDonnell of Easton; two grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Pompilii; two brothers, John McDonnell of Olive Branch, Mass., and James McDonnell, of Larchmont, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Lawrence P. McDonnell, Jr, and his sister, Rita Parker.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 28 at Notre Dame of Easton Church. Interment followed.

The Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street (Route 25) in Monroe, was in charge of arrangements.
