Youth Hoop Coaches Needed

The Parks and Recreation Department is in need of coaches for the 2001-02 basketball season as well as a director to run the biddy basketball program. Anyone interested can call Jack Shpunt at 426-1935 or Keith Kling at 426-0519.

Wescon Fillies Tryouts

Tryouts for the Wescon Fillies spring travel basketball teams will be held on Saturdays, November 3 and 10, at Danbury High School. Ages 10 through 13 will try out from 9 to 11 am while ages 14 through 17 will try out from 11 am to 1 pm. AAU age is age as of January 1, 2001. Adventure Racing Mini-Camp

A one-day Adventure Racing Mini-Camp will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 10 am, at Huntington State Park in Redding.  Basic introduction to navigation, mountain biking and paddlingFee is $100. Contact Brian Duncanson at 1-203-232-9615 or info@ctadventureracing.com.

 

Travel Basketball Coaches

Coaches for all age levels, 5th through 8th grade (girls and boys), are needed for the Newtown Parks and Recreation travel basketball program. Anyone interested should call John Giorno at 270-9579. Also, a tournament for travel basketball players is being organized and anyone interested in helping should call Mr Giorno or Jack Shpunt at 426-1935.

Kayaking Safety

Indoor kayaking courses will resume this fall at The Small Boat Shop of Norwalk. Comprehensive fundamental courses will be offered for families and beginners. Rolling classes for kayakers with more experience will also be available. A kayak, PFD, paddle and spray shirt will be provided. Call 1-203-854-5223 for further details.

Pomperaug Golf Classic
