‘Water Notations,’ A Lecture

WOODBURY — Flanders Nature Center’s Candlelight Art Evenings Series will continue on Friday, May 12, when Haggitte Gal-Ed presents “Water Notations.”

In her slide talk, Ms Gal-Ed will follow the conceptual and artistic development of her theme of water as it evolved from a project she created on the shore of the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias, Israel, and later water photographs she took at Yellowstone, the Hudson River, Minewaska Lake, and the Pomperaug River.

Ms Gal-Ed, a resident of Southbury, is an Israeli-born artist, scholar, producer and educator, as well as a photographer and filmmaker. She holds a PhD from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education and an MA in cinema studies from NYU. She has studied drawing and painting at New York School Studio, painting at Cooper Union, photography at The International Center of Photography, and documentary filmmaking at DCTV in New York City.

The lecture will begin at 7:30 pm in the nature center’s Van Vleck Art Studio, at the corner of Flanders and Church Hill Roads.

Admission is $5, and reservations are requested. Call 203-263-3711.
