Brittany Meier, daughter of William and Dale Meier, graduated from Ithaca College’s School of Business, in Ithaca, N.Y., in may May.

Also at Ithaca College, Moira Collier, daughter of Robert and Mary Beth Collier, Melanie Beck, daughter of Donald and Rose Beck, and Stacy Shpunt, daughter of Gerard and Joanne Shpunt, were named to the Dean’s List. In order to quality for the academic honor of Dean’s List, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or greater and complete a minimum of 15 credit hours, of which at least 12 are graded. 

Michelle L. DeBlasio and Haotian Zheng, both of Sandy Hook, were named as semifinalists in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $35 million, that will be offered next spring.
