Anna M. “Nina” (Albrizio) DiPerrio, 95, of Westerly, R.I., died peacefully and unexpectedly October 29, at the Westerly Hospital in the company of her loving family. She was born in Worcester, Mass., August 29, 1923, the oldest child of the late Frank and Mary (DeSantis) Albrizio.

Her children, Anthony J. DiPerrio II and his wife, Nanci, of Sandy Hook, Roberta A. DiPerrio of Westerly, R.I., and Michael F. DiPerrio and his wife, Robin White, of Newton, Mass.; grandchildren, Katie E. (DiPerrio) Bloom and her husband, Justin, Robin A. DiPerrio, Nina H. DiPerrio, and Lydia R. DiPerrio; three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Beatrice Pepper and Eleanora Penny, both of Worcester, Mass., Marguerite Giordano of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Frank Albrizio of Millbury, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews survive her.

Her husband, Anthony J. DiPerrio, predeceased her in 2004.

Mrs DiPerrio was a graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1941, in Worcester. She was initially employed as a secretary in the office of civil defense in Torrington during World War II and then worked as a bookkeeper at Norton Company in Worcester. She later worked in accounting at Sears Roebuck in Manchester, until she and her husband, Anthony, purchased an automotive parts company and warehousing business in Torrington. She became president of Ramada Enterprises and secretary of Western Connecticut Auto Electric, where she managed the accounting and inventory staff until her retirement in 1979.

In 1986, she and Tony relocated to Misquamicut Beach, R.I. Family was her greatest love. Her marriage to Tony for 56 years, her three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren were the center of her existence and happiest pieces of her life.

Her second love was cooking and entertaining. She brought dining pleasure to everyone that found themselves at her table with her expertise in classic Italian dishes that she learned firsthand from her father and her mother-in-law. She was also an avid collector of Italian cookbooks and never tired of researching through these books and the plate.

Mrs DiPerrio was a communicant at the Church of Saint Clare in Misquamicut, R.I.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, December 1, at 10 am, in the Church of Saint Clare, 62 Crandall Avenue, Misquamicut, Rhode Island. At Mrs DiPerrio’s request, calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private.
