Business background: The exterior restoration company Storm Brothers officially opened its doors in the Highland Plaza seven months ago, on February 17.

The business celebrated its arrival to town with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 29 that included First Selectman Pat Llodra and members of Newtown's Chamber of Commerce in attendance.

Prior to starting Storm Brothers, Mr Bordoy says he was a sales manager in the same field and that Mr Barbosa worked in construction for many years doing everything from roofing to carpentry.

The two decided to join together to create their own company where they could offer their expertise and services to customers in need throughout Connecticut.

Business focus: Storm Brothers is all about storm restoration for residential and commercial property.

"We do a lot of insurance work," Mr Bordoy explained. "We look for weather damage, whether it be on your roof, siding, gutters, interior, whatever the damage may be, and we get your homeowners' insurance to cover it and you pay your deductible."

The company offers free inspections to see if the property owner qualifies to receive a roof through their insurance company.

"If we do find any weather-related damages, we file a claim with the homeowner and we are really like their concierge to the insurance company," Mr Bordoy said.

They ensure no step goes undone, doing everything from making the claim phones calls to meeting the adjuster at the property.

Important to know: "People may think we are a roofing company, but we're not. We're a storm restoration company," Mr Bordoy said. "We're not looking to tell you how much money you are going to spend, we're going to tell you how much money you are going to save."

Despite Storm Brothers being a relatively new business, Mr Bordoy says people can be assured it is a trustworthy company with an experienced team.

Sales associate Joel Escobales echoed his remarks, adding that the people who make up the company are an essential component to the quality service they provide and that they are "helping countless homes in the area, and all over Connecticut save money."

Future events: On October 14, Storm Brothers will be tabling at the Harvest Jam at the Ives Concert Park in Danbury to educate attendees about their company and the services they offer.
