POSTPONED “Evolution Of The Monroe Doctrine,” 7:30 pm, C.H. Booth Library (lower meeting room), 25 Main Street, free, presentation on historic document crafted by President James Monroe and Secretary of State John Quincy Adams in light of threats seen to young United States and its trade when new alliances were forming two centuries ago, presented by Joseph Secola (retired judge, practicing attorney and past president Greater Danbury Bar Association), light refreshments to follow, hosted by Newtown Historical Society and library; 203-426-5937, newtownhistory.org. Due to illness, this program is being cancelled for March. The historical society is hoping to reschedule; new date TBA.
