The Annual Newtown-Masuk football game, traditionally held on Thanksgiving Eve, has been pushed up a day and two hours earlier to Tuesday, November 26, because of expected heavy rain and wind.

The game is to be played, as initially scheduled, at Masuk in Monroe, but the kickoff is now set for 5 pm instead of the original 7 pm start.

Newtown, coming off its second straight South-West Conference championship, carries an unbeaten record into the contest and holds the top ranking in the state’s Class LL division. A win would lock up the top spot for the Nighthawks. Regardless, the Hawks have solidified one of the top four spots in the eight-team state playoff and will host a first-round game at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, December 3.
