All town offices and agencies will be closed Friday, April 19, for Good Friday.

Newtown Senior Center will be closed on Friday.

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will be closed on Friday but will be open for regular operating hours (7 am to 3 pm) on Saturday, April 20.

C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, will be closed for Good Friday as well as on Sunday, April 21, in observance of Easter. It will be open from 9:30 am until 5 pm, its regular hours, on Saturday.

Public schools have been closed all week for April break. Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, April 22.

Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) offices will be closed for the Good Friday holiday. Offices will reopen on Saturday, April 20, at 8 am. AAA and DMX Express offices will have their own hours.

The office of The Newtown Bee, at 5 Church Hill Road, will be open on Friday, April 19.

Good Friday is not a postal holiday, according to the United States Postal Service.
