The ninth annual Hawleyville Tree Lighting is scheduled for Sunday, December 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. All are invited to gather at Barnabas Plaza, 23 Barnabas Road, in the Hawleyville section of town.

Holiday festivities will take place, including performances by the Dance Etc. Dancers, hot chocolate, and cookies from Hawleyville Post Office, free cheese pizzas from Papa Al’s, and — if everyone is well-behaved — a visit from Santa and Mrs Claus, delivered courtesy of Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Department. John Voket will be the master of ceremonies.

Those planning to attend are asked to consider bringing with them an unwrapped toy or gift, to be collected for The Newtown Fund, which benefits local families.

This event is hosted by Stony Hill Four Corners Association and Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company.
