Legislative Council’s Progressive Agenda Hurts Town

To the Editor:

Apparently, the members of the Legislative Council who voted in favor of the Plastic Bag Ban ordinance thought they were helping improve our town with their more-government-is-better progressive agenda. What they’ve done is make our town less appealing to businesses when compared to our bordering towns. Because of this, this ordinance will hurt our town in the long run, not help improve it. The plastic bag issue should have been left alone at the local level and deferred to the state level to be dealt with by others there. This commonsense approach would have left our town where it should be: on a level playing field with our bordering towns. Hopefully, when the next election comes, our electorate will vote to ban the progressive ideologies of Mr Eide, Mr Smith, Ms Bloom, Mr Pickard, Ms DeStefano, Mr Lundquist, Ms Johnson, and Mr Honan from the Legislative Council, all of whom voted in favor of this ordinance, and replace them with members who understand how to help improve our town.
