About 3 am on Tuesday, October 23, Newtown police were dispatched to the area near the intersection of South Main Street and Bears Hill Road in Botsford to search for a traveling motor vehicle that had been reported stolen from Greenwich earlier that night. The suspect was later apprehended after crashing the vehicle on Wasserman Way.

Newtown Police Department on Monday issued a request that residents and business owners along the southern section of Walnut Tree Road plan on alternate routes for up to three months, while water main work is done.
