Alberts Hill Road area residents are asking that the Police Commission reduce the number of traffic signs that have been recently installed there by the state Department of Transportation. Two residents spoke on the topic at an October 2 Police Commission meeting.

After his release from a Rhode Island prison, a 43-year-old man was arrested by Newtown police on multiple warrants for allegedly having committed multiple residential burglaries in Newtown in 2016.

A three-vehicle accident late on the night of Thursday, September 27, involving a large truck, a sedan, and a station wagon spilled a large volume of automotive fluids onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 in the area where the highway crosses above The Boulevard, closing the highway and causing extensive traffic delays.
