Newtown’s Baggett And White Help Chase Collegiate School To Successful Season

The Waterbury-based Chase Collegiate School  boys’  lacrosse team, which included Newtown residents Judd Baggett and Emmit White, finished a strong season with an 18-4 overall record and league and division championships.

The Highlanders were the undefeated champions of the Hudson Valley Athletic League and won the Western New England Division III League title. Chase lost its final game of the season in the quarterfinal round of the New England Small School Championship to Berwick Academy of South Berwick Maine.

Baggett, a senior, played a strong midfield position for the team and White, a freshman, played defense for both varsity and junior varsity teams.

Baggett earned the honor to play on the Division III All-Star team and the Senior All-Star team for independent schools.

He scored 13 goals, tallied 24 assists and scooped 109 ground balls.
