Rosario Salvo

Rosario D. "Ross" Salvo, 12, of Newtown, beloved son of Pasquale J. Salvo and Diane (Mueller) Salvo, died unexpectedly June 11, at Danbury Hospital. He was born March 6, 2006, in Norwalk, and has been a lifelong resident of Newtown.

He was a student at Reed Intermediate School, where he just completed sixth grade. Ross was an altar server at St Rose of Lima Church, a volunteer training assistant at Westport Volunteer EMS, a member of Troop 770 Boy Scouts of America, and a karate brown belt with Schaolin Studio. He was also a member of the Garden Club of Reed Intermediate School, the Hoopsters Basketball, and the sixth grade chorus.

In addition to his parents, two loving sisters, Christine Salvo of Newtown and Elizabeth Salvo O'Connell and her husband, Corbett; one uncle, two aunts, and several cousins survive him.

His paternal grandparents, Ross and Marie Salvo, and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Ellen Mueller, predeceased him.

At the request of the family, calling hours have been omitted.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, June 21, at 11:30 am, meeting directly at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life following the mass in Holy Innocents Hall. Interment is going to take place Friday, June 22, at Denison Cemetery in Swoyersville, Penn.

In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a Memorial Scholarship Foundation in Ross' memory for the benefit of EMS training. The family requests that donations be held until the formal foundation is established.
