The EverWonder Children's Museum and major sponsor Webster Bank announce that the annual fundraiser for the museum, "Science of Wine," will once again take place.

This year the event will be on Thursday, November 16, from 7 to 10 pm, at Nouveau Monde Wine Bar + Bistro, 6 Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook.

Beginning at 7 pm, guests will enjoy wines paired with innovative American cuisine while being entertained with live music from The Mike Cusato Band.

Dr Richard Coopersmith will be the evening's auctioneer, accepting bids on live auction items including a two-night, three-day ski and stay experience at the Hermitage Club; a week stay at a waterfront, three-bedroom Jersey Shore beach home on Long Beach Island; and the opportunity to be A Veterinarian for a Day for three (children and/or adults).

EverWonder Children's Museum, a 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in January 2011 by a group of mothers who enjoyed taking their children to other children's museums and who wanted to create a similar experience closer to home for everyone in the surrounding communities to enjoy.

For the first years of its life, EverWonder Children's Museum existed as a mobile entity without a physical location. The board of directors and volunteers brought science and art programming to the community through the local library and various community events in an effort to fulfill their mission and create awareness of the organization.

In April 2013, EverWonder Children's Museum opened a physical location called The EverWonder Experience. This small museum space was packed with exciting hands-on exhibits and activities. The EverWonder Experience has served more than 6,000 visitors.

In April 2015, EverWonder Children's Museum reopened in its current location at 31 Pecks Lane. This new larger space enables staff and volunteers to provide additional exhibits and activities as well as dedicated space for birthday parties and field trips.

"The EverWonder Children's Museum is, and always will be, dedicated to cultivating a lifelong love of learning in children by encouraging them to think, inquire, and wonder about the world around them," said Steve Singlak, chairman of EverWonder's board of directors. "Every day our impact is felt when children are given distinct and unique types of open-ended, child-directed experiences through the museum's programs and exhibits that support the development of essential life skills in the 21st Century."

Tickets range from $100 to $150, and proceeds from "Science of Wine" will directly support the museum's program and exhibits, and will support children to achieve their potential.
