Scott B. Smith, 41, of Danbury, died May 21. He was born in Danbury, November 6, 1971, and was the son of Bonnie (Mayberry) Smith of Southbury and the late Kenneth B. Smith, Jr.

Mr Smith grew up in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1990. He also graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1994 and the Connecticut Police Academy in 1996.

He played baseball both in high school and college. During his senior year at Quinnipiac, he was a member of the tennis team. In recent years, Mr Smith competed in triathlons and completed three Iron Man competitions.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter Montannah of Austin, Texas; a sister, Teri Smith of Sandy Hook; a niece and nephew; and several aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Tuesday, May 28, from 5 to 7 pm. A  memorial service will take place at 7 pm.
