Music fans of rock, pop, a cappella, and everything in between could find a concert to enjoy in 2018 thanks to the wide assortment of talent that visited Connecticut and New York this year.

An annual collaboration between Newtown High School and C.H. Booth Library, the 2018 NHS Art Portfolio exhibit is on view at the town library during holiday break. Five NHS students have their work on view through January 2.

More than 60 people turned out up in their finest holiday regalia on Friday, gathering in Sandy Hook Center before running the length of Church Hill Road for the first leg of The 3rd Annual Newtown/Sandy Hook Run. Donations by participants of the December 21 event also meant a nice gift for one of the town’s food pantries just before Christmas.

As the holiday season approaches, ideas and thoughts begin to race around our heads as to what the perfect gift for our loved ones might be. In no way do I wish to dampen the holiday spirit but I am going to put on my Ebenezer Scrooge cap and strongly suggest that you NOT get a puppy to put under the tree.
