Mrs Susan Wiard Seman, 77, of Mebane, N.C., formerly of Newtown, passed away on July 13, 2019, at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. She was born in Washington State to the late Robert E. Wiard and Ellen Nyquist Peters.

She attended Crossroads Presbyterian Church and cherished her time there. She loved her cat and all of the animals she has cared for over the years. She and her late husband, Fred, would go antiquing and sell their finds at the Elephant’s Trunk Flea market. As a young woman, she enjoyed traveling and living around the world with her parents. She was known for taking numerous, time-consuming family photos where everyone had to be lined up “just right.” Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Fitzpatrick, and husband, Douglas, of Mebane; her son, John Frederick Seman III, and wife, Virginia, of Connecticut; grandchildren, Ian Tobin, John Frederick Seman IV, and Megan Seman; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Frederick Seman, Jr; granddaughter, Ellen Nicole Tobin; and her sister, Patty Yirka.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Village Cemetery in Newtown.

The family will gather in the home of John Seman following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws-4-Ever, 6311 Nicks Road, Mebane NC 27302; or to the Ellen Tobin Memorial Fund, which pays for horse riding lessons for children who can not otherwise afford them. Please contact Lisa Fitzpatrick at lmfitzpat@gmail.com.

“Let go, let God.”
