Theresa B. Emmons

Theresa “Terry” B. Emmons, 82, a resident of, Monmouth, Maine, formerly of Newtown, died July 11, in Lewiston, Maine, following a period of declining health. She was born March 15, 1931, in Fairfield, the daughter of Theresa (Burian) and Michael Chervansky. 

Mrs Emmons was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield. She also attended the Connecticut School of Stenography for court reporting. She married Robert A. Emmons of Monroe in 1952, at St Thomas Church in Fairfield. Mr. Emmons died in 1974. 

Mrs Emmons worked as a court reporter in the Superior Courts in Connecticut and Maine. She moved to Monmouth in 1996 and made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and William Mann. Following her work with the courts in Maine, she worked with Judge William McCarthy in Rumford, assisting with his computer work for malpractice hearings.

She enjoyed reading and gardening. 

In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs Emmons is survived by a son, Robert A. Emmons, Jr, and his wife Yvonne of Davis, Calif.; three grandchildren; and her special friend and sister-in-law Delia Chervansky of Fairfield.

The memorial services at St Rose Church in Newtown will be announced at a later date. Interment will be at St Rose Cemetery on the day of the service.

If desired, contributions in memory of Terry B. Emmons may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
