Vera Emma (Plante) Smith, 84, passed away at her home Saturday, May 11, 2019, after a long battle with vascular dementia. She was born October 22, 1934, in Fall River, Mass.

While working as a home economics teacher, she met her husband of 50 years, Earl J. Smith, Jr, who predeceased her in 2015.

She is survived by her children, Judith; Earl and his wife, Kathleen, and daughters, Torie and Lexie; and Joseph.

Her greatest joy was sitting on her porch and watching the hummingbirds.

In lieu of a funeral, her life will be celebrated privately by her family, as per her wishes.
