To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Mitch Bolinsky for State Representation from the 106th District.

Many of you know Mitch because he may have helped you or your family, either individually or as part of a larger group issue, like last year, when he restored Newtown’s state educational cost sharing grant and our town aid. His decisive and persistent actions, in concert with the entire Newtown delegation, reversed Governor Malloy’s cuts to Newtown. Did you know he kept our town and property-tax payers from having an $11-million budget hole?

One of his passions is in the area of aging, particularly his work to support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. If you need support, talk with him. You will find a patient, sympathetic listener and a caring person with personal experience. He’s “all-in” and his commitment has been honored by both AARP Connecticut and nationally for his work.

I have seen Mitch in action for all six years he has been in office and know people who have been involved in his campaigns. He’s always working hard and listening to our concerns, whether fighting for you, your family, our town and for businesses. His sincerity and hard work is not an election-year thing, he’s all-in, all the time.

Mitch is a modest, unassuming person who generally doesn’t mug for cameras. Most of his extensive constituent work is done privately, far from the pages of Facebook or The Bee’s cameras.

Voters, this is a great time to engage with him because he is out there 24/7 looking for your views and for your support. He will carry your opinions and concerns to his next term in Hartford.

So, if he knocks on your door, answer it. You will be impressed with Mitch. I urge you to vote for him on November 6th.

Sincerely,

Carey Schierloh
