Knitters, crocheters, spinners, felt makers and needle felters, dyers, weavers, embroiders, rug hookers, and anyone into fiber arts, yarn, and textiles are all invited to join a recently formed group for a launch meeting.

Connecticut Woolcrafters Fiber Arts Community is planning its inaugural meeting for Tuesday, January 8. It will be in the Genealogy Room at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, from 10 am until 1 pm.

The new group is for the creative person who enjoys making things with wool and natural fiber.

The gathering is a free, informal meeting that is open to all. Attendees will be working on fiber projects, asking questions, sharing crafting know-how, and learning tips and tricks from group members.

Those planning to attend on January 8 are asked to bring a fiber project to work on and a finished item or two for Show & Tell so that members can get to know one another through fiber arts.

Coordinated by Nancy Gould, the group will become a community of crafty friends who will have fun and cultivate their knowledge of fiber arts and the crafting community.

Sheep and wool are part of the New England heritage. Connecticut Woolcrafters is western Connecticut’s group to explore wool crafts and learn about the many ways of creating with natural fibers.

Connecticut Woolcrafters will meet monthly at the library, on the second Tuesday of each month.

For additional information, call the library at 203-426-4533 or find the Event page on Facebook (search for CT Woolcrafters Launch Meeting).
