NEW BERN ANTIQUES SHOW RETURNS FEBRUARY 9–10 TO DOWNTOWN CENTER

avv/gs 1-22 #685354

NEW BERN, N.C. — One of eastern North Carolina’s oldest antiques show and sale will be held at the downtown Riverfront Convention Center February 9–11.

The show features 40 dealers who will display Eighteenth through Twentieth Century furniture, prints, linens, silver, glass, porcelain, jewelry, toys, books and more. Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens will offer discounted admission for ticket holders during the show. Ticket holders will be eligible for door prizes each day: raffle tickets will also be available for sale.

The WCTI-sponsored verbal identification of antiques and family heirlooms will take place Saturday and Sunday. Experts in various fields will examine two items for ticket holders, providing historical background and other information. This service is free with the purchase of an admission ticket.

Tickets are $5 and are good for all three days. A ticket entitles the holder to a chance on the show-shopping sprees. There will be four winners, one each on Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Each winner will receive a gift certificate worth $25 to be spent at the show; winners must be present.

Show hours are Friday, 5 to 8:30 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 10 am to 4:30 pm. Proceeds from the show benefit the New Bern Preservation Foundation’s programs to preserve historic homes, landmark buildings and old brick roads.
