Friday, January 18: 7:01 am, ice rescue of deer fallen through the ice at Taunton Lake, NUSAR, Dodgingtown, Hawleyville, and Hook & Ladder responded; 1:02 pm, alarm, 320 South Main Street, Botsford and Hook & Ladder responded; 1:39 pm, alarm, 41 West Street, Hook & Ladder and Dodgingtown responded; 6:29 pm, motor vehicle accident, I-84, Sandy Hook responded.

Sunday, January 20: Overall on January 20, the five local volunteer fire companies received 79 calls for service across town, of which 70 calls involved reports of “wires down” due to the winter storm during the period from 6:39 am to 10:09 pm. A Volkswagen Passat station wagon and a Chevrolet commercial van were involved in a low-speed collision midafternoon on Monday, January 21, at Wheels gas station at 67 Church Hill Road. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Newtown Hook & Ladder volunteer firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The Volkswagen's driver was transported to the hospital to be checked.
