James John Aurigemma, Sr, 62, of Indian Land, S.C., died January 26 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 9, 1951, in Bridgeport, and was the son of Concetta Dierna Aurigemma of Shelton and the late Pasqual Aurigemma.

Survivors also include his loving wife Sally; sister Lillian (Ronald) Martenson of Sandy Hook; daughter Sarah Aurigemma of Fort Mill, S.C.; son James Aurigemma, Jr, of Fort Mill; and other relatives and friends.

After 20 years of service, he retired from the Shelton Police Department and relocated to Charlotte, N.C.

His love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did, and his smile was contagious.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 31, at St Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte.
