Elaine Stewart, 53, of Tequesta, Fla., died January 30 at her home. Born in Newtown, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Kayfus of Newtown, and the sister of Thomas Kayfus of Sandy Hook.
In addition to her parents and brother, survivors include her husband, James âJimâ Stewart; son, James Stewart of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Laura Stewart of Jupiter, Fla.; three other brothers, Robert Kayfus of Houston, Tex., Tim Kayfus of Fort Worth, Tex., and Gary Kayfus of Coral Springs, Fla.; and two sisters, Kathy Paccadolmi of Raphine, Va., and Nancy Cohen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 2 at St Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, with Father Bernard Dooley officiating.

The Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center Street, Jupiter, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
