According to John Hopkins School of Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the cause of more deaths than cancer, respiratory diseases, and accidents combined. The latest data states that more than one-third of all these deaths can be prevented.

The Newtown VNA will host a special program on Tuesday, February 5, for Heart Health Month.

In a brief lecture, Dr Kenneth Hoffman, DACM, will introduce innovative information to detect early risk factors of CVD, including tests and treatment that can successfully prevent CVD naturally.

Dr Hoffman is medical director of Sophia Natural Health Center in Brookfield, one of the busiest holistic clinics on the East Coast. He is also co-author of Essential Remedies for Women’s Health and host of the radio talk show “The Natural Medicine Connection,” heard Saturday mornings on 800/94.1 WLAD.

The lecture will begin at 9:30 am. It will be presented in the Council Chamber of Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street.

There is no charge, and reservations are not needed. For additional information, contact Newtown VNA President Anna Wiedemann, 203-417-3004 or aroosterw@yahoo.com.

The American Heart Association continues to spread the message that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the country through its Go Red For Women red dress campaign.
