The Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance has two local interactive dance programs in upcoming weeks, the first of which is at their hometown library.

Under the direction of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance stars Craig and Christina Ashurst, students will lead an energetic performance of traditional and contemporary Irish dances at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, on Saturday, March 9, at noon.

The group — which includes Regionals Champions and World Championship qualifiers — will get guests into the spirit for St Patrick’s Day, first with a performance and then with a brief lesson.

Registration is requested and can be done by calling the library at 203-426-4533 or visiting chboothlibrary.org.

Ashurst Academy dancers will be at Southbury Public Library, 100 Poverty Road, the following weekend, March 16. The group will again demonstrate their moves before offering a lesson, in a program also scheduled to begin at noon.

Registration is required for the Southbury program and can be done by calling the library’s Youth Services Department at 203-262-0626 extension 3. In-person registration is also available for March 16.
