Salvatore A. "Tootie" DeBenedetto, 89, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, died February 4. He was the beloved husband of June (Felicella) DeBenedetto.www.honanfh.com.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he leaves his children Diane Skuba and husband, Bob, of Sandy Hook; Salvatore and wife, Loni; Sally and husband, James. He was Grandfather to Bobby, Diane, Albert, Jimmy, and June.

He was a World War II Veteran of the US Army, and was a proud recipient of the Purple Heart.

Mr DeBenedetto was the owner of Sweetheart Records and Tootie's Garage. He was also very heavily involved with Robert Anthony's Hair Salon in Newtown, which is owned by members of his family, and where he was loved by all.

The DeBenedettos were inseparable shopping, flea marketing and going to the coffee shop, making every day blessed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 8. Interment with full Military Honors was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
