Chevy Vs BMW

Police report that during slippery conditions at about 6:55 am on February 5, motorist Holly Broderick, 36, of Danbury was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Classic auto eastward on Berkshire Road, near Bradley Lane, as motorist Kevin McCormack, 59, of Shelton was driving a 2016 BMX X-6 SUV westward there.

The Chevrolet slid into the opposite lane, resulting in the two vehicles colliding, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Broderick a written warning for failure to keep to the right on a curve.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Danielle Ferguson, 29, of Waterbury went to the police station on the morning of February 8, and was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court, police said.

The warrant stems from a past case in which Ferguson was charged with two motor vehicle violations, police said. After processing, Ferguson posted $1,500 bail and was released for a February 23 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, police said.

Poverty Hollow Accident

Police said motorist Brian Jappinen, 40, of Canton was driving a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek auto northward on Poverty Hollow Road, about 1,000 feet south of Morris Road, at about 6:50 pm on February 8, when the vehicle skidded off the right road shoulder while on a curve and then struck two trees.

There were no injuries. Police gave Jappinen a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Sandy Hook Center Collision

At about 5:04 pm on February 9, motorist Michael Danka, 26, of West Haven, who was driving a 1998 Honda Accord northward on Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook Center, struck the rear end of a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Charles Marrone, 65, of Oxford, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Danka an infraction listing charges of failure to drive a reasonable distance apart and failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.

South Main Accident

At about 8 am on February 2, motorist Domenick Socci, 54, of Easton was driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-320 sedan northward on South Main Street, near Elm Drive, when he slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by northbound motorist Jennifer Gabel, 25, of Monroe, who was driving a 2002 Acura MDX SUV, police said.

There were no injuries. Police aid they issued Gabel a written warning for following too closely.

Bad Check

After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Mariette Kammerer, 65, of Easton went to the police station about 10:30 am on February 4 and was charged with issuing a bad check, police report.

The charge follows a police investigation into a complaint which they received on January 6.

After processing, police released Kammerer on a written promise to appear on February 18 in Danbury Superior Court.

Slippery Road

During snowy conditions about 6:36 am on February 5, motorist Dustin Croteau, 29, of New Milford, who was driving a 2011 Subaru Impreza auto eastward on Mt Pleasant Road, east of its intersection with Reservoir Road, was traveling downhill when the vehicle went into a skid on the snowy/icy road and went out of control, police said.

The Subaru spun about and went off the right road shoulder, striking some flex-beam metallic guardrailing, police said. There were no injuries, police report.

Scion vs Tree

Police said motorist Brianna DelGiudice, 17, of 2 Leopard Drive was driving a 2009 Toyota Scion XB hatchback northward near 90 Huntingtown Road at about 6:16 pm on February 5, when while negotiating a downhill curve, the auto skidded on the slippery roadway and then struck a tree along the left road shoulder.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned DelGiudice for traveling too fast for conditions.

Pickup Crash

Motorist Carlo Fenaroli, 17, of 50 Taunton Hill Road was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in wet conditions southward on New Lebbon Road, south of Aspen Way, at about 2 pm on February 3, when Fenaroli was distracted by an object that fell within the truck, after which the vehicle struck a metal post, a utility pole, and a tree, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they gave Fenaroli a written warning for failure to drive in the proper lane and also verbally warned him for distracted driving.

Intersection Collision

At about 5 pm on February 7, motorist Susan Bradley, 49, of Southington, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, stopped at a stop sign on Cherry Street, as motorist Thomas Botta, 42, of 3 Wilderness West Road was driving a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV westward on Riverside Road, police said.

The Chevrolet then entered the intersection and struck the Hyundai, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they warned Bradley for failure to obey a stop sign.

Bishop Circle

At about 10 am on February 4, Ahmet Baycoral, 31, of West Haven was driving a 2011 Freightliner Sprinter delivery truck northward on Bishop Circle, as motorist Scott Wexler, 22, of 5 Bishop Circle, who was driving a 2002 Honda Civic, was exiting his driveway, police said.

The vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police report that they verbally warned Baycoral for failure to drive to the right and they verbally warned Wexler for failure to grant the right of way.

Mile Hill Road

At about 4:11 pm on February 2, motorist Paul Tani, 45, of Waterbury, who was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer SUV, stopped in the westbound left-turn lane of Mile Hill Road near its intersection with South Main Street, after which motorist Katherine Barnhart, 43, of Monroe, who was driving as 2012 Subaru Outback station wagon, stopped behind the Ford, police said.

The Ford then rolled backward, striking the front end of the Subaru, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Tani for unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle.

Ford vs Nissan

At about 5:45 pm on February 2, motorist Colleen Litof, 60, of Redding was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima eastward on Church Hill Road, as motorist Jennifer Graham, 53, of Allen, Texas, was driving a 2015 Ford Focus westward there, police said.

The Ford then attempted to make a left turn to enter the Blue Colony Diner parking lot, resulting in the Ford and Nissan colliding, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Graham for failure to grant the right of way.

Jaguar Hit

Police report that on January 31, motorist David Klang, 61, of 5 Blanche's Walk, who was driving a 2008 Jeep Liberty SUV, struck and damaged an unoccupied parked 1998 Jaguar XJ-8 sedan at a commercial parking lot at 5 Queen Street, after which Klang left the scene.

Police said that after investigating, they charged Klang with evading responsibility and issued him a misdemeanor summons requiring a court appearance to answer the charge.

Snowy Road

Motorist Christopher Mejia, 29, of New Milford was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser eastward on Sugar Street, near Key Rock Road, about 7 am on February 5, when the vehicle skidded on the snowy pavement and then drove off the right road shoulder, striking an embankment and a utility pole, police said.

There were no injuries. Police report they verbally warned Mejia for making a restricted turn.

SUV vs Sign

Motorist Matthew Detlor, 22, of East Haven was driving a Honda CR-V SUV northward on Hawleyville Road, just south of its intersection with Currituck Road, about 3:33 pm on February 8 in snowy conditions, when the Honda crossed the road's center line and then spun about, going off the left road shoulder and striking and breaking a state traffic sign, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Detlor for traveling too fast for conditions.

Sugar Street

Police report that motorist Karen Rumsey, 73, of 6 Black Cherry Lane was driving a 2016 Subaru Legacy auto eastward on Sugar Street, near Scudder Road, about 3:48 pm on February 8, when the vehicle slid on the snowy road, struck some curbing on the right road shoulder, and then hit and snapped a utility pole.

There were no injuries. Rumsey received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police report.

Chevy vs BMW

Violation of Probation

Police report that they arrested Thomas Gloclowski, 20, of 8 Pootatuck Terrace on two warrants on the morning of February 11, charging him with two counts of violation of probation.

Police said they held Gloclowski on $6,500 bail for an appearance that day in Danbury Superior Court.

Jeremiah Road Accident

Motorist Marci Ann Augustine, 43, of 11 Stone Gate Drive was driving a 2008 Honda Civic southward near 7 Jeremiah Road about 5:30 am on February 10, when on entering a downhill curve to the left, the auto went off the road and then struck a curbside residential mailbox, police said. There were no injuries.

Police report that motorist Carleigh Cain, 19, of Ansonia was driving a 2004 Honda sedan northward on South Main Street about 3:40 pm on February 7, when she made an abrupt right turn to enter a driveway at Waterfall Plaza at 255 South Main Street, but then drove off the driveway and went down an embankment toward a brook.
