HARTFORD, CONN. — On Sunday March 9, at 1:45 pm Charles and Barbara Adams will give a booth chat titled “Is it Bennington or Rockingham?” They will touch on the history of pottery at Bennington located in Vermont and use actual pieces from their inventory to show how to identify pieces that are not marked. In addition, they will show and discuss several rare and seldom seen pieces from their private collection.

The Adams lecture has been in a variety of venues including the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth, Dennis Historical Society, Cape Cod Antique Dealers Association, South Yarmouth Library Antique Lecture Series and the Norwell Historical Society. In addition, they have exhibited at major museums, including Haffenreffer Museum at Brown University in Providence, R.I.; the Worcester Art Museum; the Wilton Historical Society; and the Old Town Maine Historical Society. They have also published numerous articles in magazines such as the New England Antiques Journal and Early American Home.

Charles is a partner in Gammons-Adams Insurance Agency. He is currently the president of the Cape Cod Antique Dealers Association. Barbara is a retired school teacher and currently is the recording secretary for the Cape Cod Antique Dealers Association, a trustee of the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth, the contract manager for the Orleans Antiques Show and co-chair of Collection Management of Courcier and Wilkins Antiques.

Charles and Barbara Adams have been exhibiting in major antique shows since 1976. They also conduct business from their home by appointment, 508-760-3290.
