Mothers United Against Violence Planning February 20 Vigil In Hartford

HARTFORD - Mothers United Against Violence will hold a rally outside Hartford City Hall on Tuesday, February 20, and are inviting "all people of good will to join this vigil," the organization posted Monday morning on its Facebook page.mothersunited@yahoo.com.

The vigil is in response to the February 14 shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

"We who have had the lives of hundreds of loved ones taken by violence in the past decade stand in solidarity with them, pledging our commitment to work together for effective policy change to bring an end to tragedies like this in future," the post continued.

The rally will begin at 6 pm Tuesday. Hartford City Hall is at 550 Main Street, south of Wadsworth Atheneum and Burr Mall, and north of Hartford Public Library.
