Talent Of CSU System’s Art Faculty

At WestConn This Month

DANBURY — A multi-media art exhibition featuring the work of more than 50 art faculty members from the Connecticut State University System will be displayed in the newly expanded and refurbished Ruth A. Haas Library on the midtown campus of Western Connecticut State University through March 30.

The library is open daily for viewing of the exhibition, which is sponsored by CSU’s Committee on the Arts. The exhibition includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, photography, sculpture and ceramics, video, digital images, screen-based web site files, color pencil drawings, collage, computer-generated art, jewelry and mixed media.

The faculty artists include Central Connecticut State University: James Buxton, Joseph Dal Pra, Tom Edwards, Sheri Fafunwa, Sean Gallagher, Cora Marshall, Ionis Martin, Adam Niklewicz, Rachel Siporin, Mark Strathy and Ron Todd, all from Central Connecticut State University.

Eastern Connecticut State University is represented with work from Imna Arroyo, June Bisanti-Evans, Lula Mae Blocton, Sharon Butler, Andy Jones, Qimin Liu, Muriel Miller, Afarin Rahmanifar, Beverly Roy, Mark Szantyr and Claudia Widdiss.

Southern Connecticut State University is represented with work from Mary Lou Alberetti, Michell Bills, Diana Boehnert, Mia Brownell, T. Wiley Carr, Donald Cyr, Michael Faulkner, Arthur Guagliumi, Keith Hatcher, Terrence Lavin, Vkadimir Shpitalnik, Cort Sierpinski, Rachel Vaters-Carr, Thuan Vu and Daniel Wilkerson.

Western Connecticut State University is represented by Robert Alberetti, Rosalie Appel, Walter Boehnert, Sigmund Bookbinder, Gary Burdick, Hwa Yang Caruso, Abe Echevarria, Margaret Grimes, Jurg Lanzrein, Plonia Nixon, Francis Patnaude, Bill Quinnell, Adel Saghir, David Skora, Joel Spector, Kim Tester, John Wallace and Terry Wells.

Neither tickets nor reservations are needed for the opening reception. Parking is available in the Student & Visitor Lot adjacent to the library, at the intersection of Hospital Avenue and Osborne Street. Additional parking is also available in the White Street Garage.

Regular library hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 am-11 pm; Friday, 8 am-5 pm; Saturday, 10 am-4 pm; and Sunday, 1-10 pm.  Special library hours in effect March 19-23 will be noon-4 pm. The library will be closed on Saturday, March 24.
