Newtown High School’s dance team followed its South-West Conference title with an L Division state championship, on February 23. Newtown won the Connecticut title last year as well.

Julia Barnum, Members of the team, coached by Cheryl Stenz, are Grace Bianco, Cailin Blessey, Audrey Botta, Olivia Cavallero, Francesca D’Aprile, Emily Dunford, Caroline Hancock, Payten Krikorian, Katie Lurie, Kylie Maddox, Ericka Pontore, Kylee Raiano, Danika Rasmussen, Caroline Reichmann, Jillian Reilly, Maya Renkert, Ashley Russo, Melina Sagar, Ava Schwartz, Taegan Smith, and Kaitlyn Tripodi.

Newtown earned a spot in the Regional championship in Braintree Mass., on March 9.
